Section 9 of 13

Payroll integration

Sending punches to an external system automatically, and one decision to take deliberately.

The device can push punches to a payroll system on its own, on a cycle, with nobody involved. If the far side does not answer, punches wait in the device and go out on the next attempt — nothing is lost.

What you configure

Address
Where punches should be sent.
User and password
Credentials for the payroll system.
Device identifier
The name your payroll system recognises. Out of the box it matches the hotspot name, so two terminals in one company do not merge into one.
Interval
Minutes between cycles. 15 out of the box.
Card number format
The number as a decimal value or as hexadecimal. Which one depends on what the payroll system expects — if punches come back unrecognised, try the other.

A single cycle sends up to 32 punches. A punch rejected as an unknown card is skipped and the cycle carries on; on a server-side error the cycle stops and resumes from the same place next time.

Delete punches after sending?

You can have sent punches disappear from the device. That is convenient at high traffic, but it changes what the device is.
