Section 12 of 14
Clock battery
When to replace the CR2032 battery and how to do it safely.
The device contains a CR2032 lithium coin cell (3 V, non-rechargeable) in a holder on the main board. It keeps the clock running while the device has no power. Replace it when the date and time are lost after power is disconnected. Attendance records, employees and settings are stored in the device memory, so replacing the battery does not erase them.
- 1
Disconnect the power and all cables (USB-C, Ethernet, relay wires) and take the device off the wall.
- 2
Lay the device face down on a soft surface. Undo the 4 screws of the back cover and remove the cover.
- 3
Gently lift the board on the socket side (the bottom) and fold it upwards like a page of a book. Do not disconnect or pull the ribbon cable at the top edge.
- 4
Slide the old battery out from under the holder clip. Do not pry with metal tools (risk of a short circuit).
- 5
Insert a new CR2032 battery with the „+” facing up (towards the clip), pushing it fully in.
- 6
Put the board back so that the sockets sit in their cut-outs, refit the cover and tighten the 4 screws gently (the housing is plastic).
- 7
Connect the power and check the date and time in the panel (set them if the device has no internet access).
- 8
Take the used battery to a battery collection point. Do not throw it away with household waste.
